Chief of Cardiology
Dubai, 2002–2007
Dr. Fatemeh Esfahani graduated from medical school in 1996 and spent the first stretch of her career in internal medicine and cardiology, including five years as Chief of Cardiology in Dubai from 2002 to 2007.
She began training in aesthetic medicine in 2002, alongside her clinical work. That combination is unusual. Most aesthetic providers come up through dermatology, nursing, or esthetics. Dr. Esfahani came to it from a specialty where the margin for error is small and the anatomy has to be understood completely, and she brought that standard with her.
She founded the American Institute of Cosmetic Dermatology, and in 2019 she opened Atossa Medical Spa. The practice now operates two San Diego locations, in La Jolla and La Mesa, and she is the only provider at both.
Atossa is women-owned and LGBTQ+ friendly. Between the two clinics, patients have left more than 550 reviews averaging above 4.9 stars.
